Luke's Story
On March 31, Luke David Baldwin arrived at 10:14pm at 19 inches, 6 pounds, 15 ounces just after week 37. At 11:00am on March 31, Lisa and David arrived at Scripps Hospital for a pre-natal visit and upon sitting on the delivery bed, Lisa's water broke - how convenient! Over the next 10 hours Lisa pushed, ate ice chips, and then began to have a fever which topped at 101.7. The delivery doctor decided to opt for a C-section due to Lisa's fever and Luke's reaction. On delivery, both Lisa and Luke had an infection and both were immediately put on antibiotics. Lisa recovered in her room from the infection and C-section experience while Luke recovered in the Neonatal ICU where he would be on antibiotics for 7 days. While Luke was in the ICU the doctor's noticed that his Calcium was low and that Luke had jaundice. So, more tests and Luke was put under the lights. The infection is now gone along with the jaundice, and his Calcium has recovered to a normal range. However, we will still need to follow his Calcium as he is on supplements and do not know if he has fully recovered until all the tests come back and he is off supplements. So, please pray as they check his blood almost daily to rule out diseases. So, far everything is coming back normal, but we still have a couple weeks to go until we're really "out of the woods." Luke came home April 8 and was welcomed by Grandma and Grandpa Baldwin on April 9. Grandma and Grandpa Johnson will be arriving in June. We are enjoying our little guy and so glad God has continued his faithfulness! Like our wedding day verse, we believe this statement is also true with Luke: "This is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous to see - Mark 12:11" SEE BELOW FOR MORE PICTURES

Meet Baby BOY Baldwin at 20 weeks due April 2009

Merry Christmas from San Diego!
2008 has brought another year of adventure for the Baldwins. This year we both turned the Big 40 and celebrated by having a Baby Boy who is due in April! In addition, we celebrated by going to Yosemite, Catalina Island and took our first cruise to the Bahamas with the Isom family. We continued to convert the bachelor pad into a home with Lisa's creative touch and have enjoyed another year at our church's north campus http://www.cvcf.com/. In March, our fathers were both diagnosed with cancer, but had successful surgeries and are recovering well. David has enjoyed working with his company, Leadership Insight Group (http://www.lig360.com/) and enjoyed journeys to Panama, the Midwest, and the Southern USA with Lisa. In September, we celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary with Dan and Donna Skiles in Vegas who just happened to be celebrating their wedding anniversary. As we enjoy our second year of marriage, we are amazed at God's continued faithfulness, especially the gift of Baby Boy Baldwin.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Our first Christmas as Mr. & Mrs. Baldwin
We have had quite a year, one of those years you always remember. Definately a year of blessing which is good to remember when the trials of life do not always feel like a blessing.
2007 was the year David went out on his own after working with the Center for Creative Leadership for 12 years. The name of the new company is the Leadership Insight Group with a website created by Lisa's brothers coming out soon - http://www.lig360.com/
After teaching 5th grade at Horizon Elementary along with 17 consistent years of teaching, Lisa is taking a year off to convert David's bachelor pad into a real home while enjoying being a newlywed.
But, the biggest memory was our wedding day, September 15, 2007! Oh, what a day! Next, we ventured on our honeymoon to Hawaii for 2 weeks. Two days later traveled to El Salvador and then Nashville as David delivered work for Dell computers. Thanksgiving was spent with Al and Judie Baldwin and Christmas will be a white Christmas in Wisconsin and Minnesota with Lisa's family.
As newlyweds we are still transitioning and enjoying each moment! We look forward in 2008 to seeing you wherever God leads our paths to cross.
Merry Christmas!
